All breakups happen for a reason and they never come without warning. There are always signs preceding them, no matter how subtle in nature. And it's very important that you're able to recognize these, for failure to do so (and correct their associated problems) will bring about the inevitable: the painful and often unexpected end of your relationship.
This article will take a closer look into the seven signs of a breakup that you should be on the lookout for in your own relationship if you feel something's not right. So, without further delay, let's begin...
Warning Sign #1: You get demoted on her "priority scale"
What this means is that she starts to constantly put everyone and everything in her life before you. For example, perhaps you were the first person she would always come to with a problem but now you're the last person she confides in.
Warning Sign #2: Contact is becoming a "one way street"
Are you calling her more and more while she's calling you less and less? If so, this is an indication that your relationship is in trouble.
Warning Sign #3: She constantly puts off plans to meet you or always cancels last minute
While this sign ties in with the first one it deserves special mention of its own. Whenever a girl decreases the amount of time you spend together, and does it in the above fashion, it should raise a good deal of concern.
Warning Sign #4: She starts telling you "little white lies"
Any time someone feels the need to lie to their partner (irrespective of the severity of the issue) it should instantly raise a red flag.
Warning Sign #5: She picks fights with you about trivial matters
Every couple fights - it's normal. However, when these fights become one-sided and their underlying cause seems insignificant, it means that something is wrong. Heavy criticism applies here as well.
Warning Sign #6: Her affection towards you ceases to exist
This goes beyond the stuff that stays in the bedroom: PDA and casual contact are just two examples.
Warning Sign #7: Her new male "friend" becomes the hot topic of every conversation
This sign in itself is relatively insignificant, however, when tied into two or more of the above it becomes a reason to panic.
Now, the important thing to recognize with the above signs is that they're relative to the relationship in question. There are many reasons why a girl would demote you or decrease contact that are absolutely harmless. For example, perhaps she's having some issues with her folks and prefers to keep them in the family. Or maybe school is causing her a great deal of stress and she withdraws from you as a result of this.
Whatever the case may be, you have to evaluate them in the context of your own relationship and ask yourself the following question: "Is there a good reason to justify this?" And if the answer is "yes" then you should figure out exactly what is needed to correct their underlying problems. It is only through great introspection that you'll be able to do this and ultimately save your relationship if a breakup is headed your way.
