What are some good pickup lines? Are there any pickup lines that actually work?

Here's what I think:

Unless a woman is very interested in you already - in which case you don't need a line anyway -you can't really use a pickup line to "pick up" a woman and immediately bring her home.

You can, however, use what I call "openers" so that you can initiate a conversation naturally and build attraction from there.

An opener is NOT a "pickup line" that you use to hit on a woman. Rather, it is an ice breaker that you can use to start a conversation with anyone - be it a 80 year old woman or the hairy man sitting next to you on the bus.

A good analogy is to think about what you might say to break the ice with a stranger you're NOT interested in when you're in the elevator or on the bus. For example, you could say something about

   
    1) The weather. (Weather opener)

    2) A book the person is holding. (Curiosity
    Opener)

    3) How slow the elevator is. (Environmental
    opener)

9 out of 10 times, the person will respond politely, making it possible to start a small talk.

Once you get into small talking, then the approach is complete and you can start flirting and building rapport with the woman.   

So...as an exercise, I want you to start talking to strangers that you are NOT interested in romantically. With practice, you will be able to start conversations with anyone without feeling nervous. After that, it's just a matter of flirting with them as well!
